ABOUT THE WORK
Ariana Papademetropoulous creates portals which usher in the liminal space between perception and delusion. Her paintings, installations, performances and videos exist in worlds built above and below this one, places where we can channel visions hidden in plain sight. What is held in an image, how does fantasy blend and disintegrate? Papademetropoulous investigates, rupturing reality like the vertigo of the past overlaid on pastel present. She paints with seamless softness, creating a perspectival filter that snuffs out romantic linkages and the magic of reality.
