Working at the intersection of art, preservation, and architecture, Jorge Otero-Pailos is best known for his acclaimed execution of public art and installation projects including his series The Ethics of Dust that has been exhibited at The Venice Biennale, the Victoria & Albert Museum (London), and the Louis Vuitton Galerie (London) among others. Our new edition by Otero-Pailos, Trajan's Column, captures the spirit of this ambitious series in an archival pigment print based on his collaged black and white photography of his installation at the Victoria & Albert Museum. In The Ethics of Dust, Otero-Pailos sprayed latex atop iconic architectural interiors; when gently removed from the surface, the translucent latex revealed an architectural and social echo, calling into consideration themes such as the passage of time, the life cycle, and human impact on environment. Trajan's Column reflects these pressingly relevant themes through its poetic fragmentation, in which the negative space is as compelling as the image itself.
Framing option is black or white painted wood, 7/8” wide flat face and 7/8” deep, with UV acrylic glass.
