Andrew Kuo's work interweaves indulgent introspection and self-critique with meta-analytics and cultural phenomena. His ability to intimately convey the minutiae of personal experience through blunt colors and elementary geometry has been recognized by The New York Times, The New Yorker, Artforum, Interview, and L’umono Vogue, among others. Primarily known for his bold abstractions which intricately chronicle charts of collated information, Kuo explores the mundane with a humorous poeticism, whether through his Instagram or his New Yorker fascination with bodega flowers. In Girl, Flowers, the latter is presented as thin strip of deli-cellophane obscures the profile of an anonymous figure, glowing jewel-toned while shrouded in the darkness of dusk.
