ABOUT THE WORK

Young Lee's recent Night Studio series explores the pressures of the artist. Presented in a cheerful palette with playful characters, Lee's work draws you in and then asks you to take a second look.  In 4am, we're invited into a chaotic scene from Lee's studio, which depicts the artist feverishly reading (or perhaps doom scrolling), surrounded by half-finished work, with a clock looming large overhead. The anxiety is palatable, and Lee's vulnerability is front and center.
