In the spirit of Lee Friedlander or Ed Ruscha, Daniel Fuller's photographs show unexpected facets of what it means to seek out the extreme in surfing. These feats of daring and physical skill usually occur in distant locales where there are no witnesses; places like Bali, the Maldives, or the remote pipeline break off of Tahiti called Teahupo. In this piece, Fuller captures a isolated early morning scene with a star streaked sky. The idyllic, serene landscape sets up an unconventional stage for the artist's insatiable quest to ride ever bigger and more powerful waves - putting into perspective both human ambition and the power of nature.
Framing options are white or black painted wood, 3/4" wide flat face frame 1" deep with UV acrylic glass.
