The work of Kasper Sonne embodies the paradox of creation through destruction, as well as the conflict between chance and control. By first building up a monochrome surface of paint and then pouring bleach, acid, and other aqueous solutions onto the painting while it lies flat on a draining mat, Sonne imposes a chemically fueled metamorphosis onto his canvases. The pigments in the paint react and separate into variations of pink, cyan and other hues - resulting in a work formed through its own dissolution. In this spirit, the artist has destroyed the original painting made specifically for our edition so that TXC(exa) exists only in print.
Framing option is black or white painted wood, 7/8" wide flat face and 7/8" deep, with UV acrylic glass.
