Jane Dickson

In 1993, Jane Dickson transformed Manhattan’s Historic West 42nd Street into a dynamic, round-the-clock public art exhibition with the public art organization Creative Time. Fifteen years later, she revisited the site with a colorful mosaic series featuring life-size party revelers along the walls of the subway station. Celebrated for her rich and atmospheric paintings, Dickson has had solo exhibitions at The Whitney Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Marlborough Gallery (New York). Her work has been included in group exhibitions at Metro Pictures (New York), James Fuentes Gallery (New York), and the Omi International Art Center (Ghent, NY). Dickson is a 2013 recipient of the Joan Mitchell Foundation Award for Painting and Sculpture, and her work on permanent display at the Brooklyn Museum of Art.
