About the Work
Multi-disciplinary artist Chloe Wise has a human-centered approach to her prolific oeuvre of paintings, sculptures, installations, and video work, employing sensuality and humor to explore the cognitive dissonance required to exist in a globalized world.
Our new collaboration After Bernini, inspired by Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s famous work The Rape of Proserpina, features a close crop of pivotal mythological drama, abstracting the iconic moment until only movement remains. Set against geometric panels of mid-century colors, the gesture takes on a graphic quality through Wise's sparse, elegant lines.
After Bernini is a fresh example of Wise’s forays into functional art, wherein intimacy and wit become safeguards against external seizures.
Artist Biography
Chloe Wise (b. 1990, Montreal) has held solo exhibitions at Almine Rech (New York, London, France), Blouin Division (Montreal, Toronto), Galerie Sébastien Bertrand (Geneva), HEART Herning Museum of Contemporary Art (Herning, Denmark), and The Journal Gallery (New York), among others. Select group exhibitions include presentations at Galerie Sébastien Bertrand (Geneva), Magenta Plains (New York), Kasmin Gallery (New York), Warhol Museum (Philadelphia), Blum and Poe (Los Angeles), Marianne Boesky Gallery (New York), Gagosian (New York), and Carl Kostyál (Malmö, Sweden) among many others. Her work is included in The Julia Stoschek Collection (Dusseldorf), The Hammer Museum (Los Angeles), and National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa). Wise lives and works in New York.

Shippings & Returns
Unframed work ships within 5 business days of your order. Framed artwork is custom framed once it is ordered. Please allow 2-4 weeks for framing and delivery. Need it faster? Expedited options may be available by emailing service@exhibitiona.com. All work ships from the US. International customers are responsible for any customs, duty, or VAT charges.
If you change your mind after placing your order, please email us at service@exhibitiona.com within 24 hours. We will not be able to accommodate cancellations for framed orders after that time period (as your frame will have been ordered and cut within that time period). We may not be able to accommodate your request to cancel your order for an unframed work after 24 hours if it has been packaged and processed by our fulfillment center.
We are unable to accept returns on custom framed artwork. Our general policy is that we do not accept returns. If your print arrives damaged or does not meet your expectations, you may be eligible for a replacement or return. Any issues must be reported within 5 business days of receipt by emailing service@exhibitiona.com.
