FAQs

ARTWORK

What is a limited edition?

Limited editions are unique artworks, whether prints, sculptures, or
functional objects, produced in a specific, limited quantity as determined
by the artist and the publisher. These exclusive pieces are sought-after by
collectors due to their restricted availability.

What is an archival pigment print?

An archival pigment print is a high-quality digital inkjet print made with
archival ink on archival paper. These materials are museum-quality and
guaranteed to last up to 90 years, ensuring your artwork remains in
pristine condition.

What is a hand-finished series?

A hand-finished series consists of artworks that start with a common
"base print" onto which the artist adds unique handcrafted elements. This
process results in variations within a single series, making each piece
distinct.

What is a silkscreen?

A silkscreen, also known as a screen print, is a printmaking technique
where ink is pushed through a fine mesh screen onto a surface, creating a
vibrant and highly detailed image. Each color in the artwork requires a
separate screen, making it a meticulous and versatile method favored by
many artists.

What is a UV print?

A UV print, or ultraviolet print, is a type of digital printing where UV-cured inks are applied to a surface and then dried or cured using ultraviolet light. This process results in vibrant, high-resolution prints known for their durability and resistance to fading.

What is an object edition?

An object edition features limited-edition artworks that go beyond traditional two-dimensional prints. These editions can include sculptures, functional objects, or art pieces with unique physical attributes. Artists often use diverse materials and techniques to create object editions, making them exceptional additions to art collections.

How will my print be framed?

Framing options vary for each piece. These options are listed on individual product pages.

Are the artists involved in production?

Yes! We work directly with artists to create exclusive editions that accurately reflect their larger body of work. Additionally, each artist personally reviews and approves their final edition. We love the collaborative process and are in constant dialogue with today’s most compelling contemporary artists to see how we can honor and expand their practice!

How do I know that my Exhibition A edition is authentic?

Please refer to the individual artwork page to verify how your work is authenticated. Our newer editions are generally signed, marked, or numbered on the work itself by the artist, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) signed by Exhibition A. Many of our older editions (2018 and earlier) are not signed on the work itself, but rather accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity that has been signed and numbered by the artist. (So be sure to keep your COA in a safe place!) Certain items that we did not produce including original artwork and Andy Warhol’s Art Cash (Ones) do not come with a COA. If you would like clarification regarding how an edition is signed, please check the individual artwork page for specifications or email info@exhibitiona.com with the title of the piece you are interested in and our team will be happy to help. We also recommend that you keep your order confirmation email for your records.

I lost my Certificate of Authenticity. Can you provide me with a replacement?

Unfortunately, we cannot replace lost or damaged Certificates of Authenticity.

Quick tip: ask your framer to affix the COA to the back of the frame so you don't lose track of it!
