Michael Kagan presented his F1 paintings in Abu Dhabi Fall 2015 and a solo exhibition at Joshua Liner Gallery in 2016, the latter with which Kagan exhibited alongside Tom Sachs and at ‘Miami Project’ during Art Basel Miami Beach. His work has been exhibited in shows at Allegra Viola Gallery (New York), Charles de Jonghe (Brussels) and at Eden Rock Gallery (St. Barths), among others. He has collaborated with a host of celebrities, including Pharrell Williams, Jay Leno, and the band White Lies, for whom he created album artwork and won the top prize of Best Art Vinyl of 2013. In 2014, the Smithsonian commissioned three large paintings from him based on their air-and-space-related archives. Kagan received his BFA from George Washington University and completed his MFA at the New York Academy of Art, where he was awarded a postgraduate fellowship. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
