Nate Lowman was born during a snowstorm in Las Vegas on February 1st, 1979. He lost his virginity in a high school darkroom and wants his remains scattered over the castle in Joshua Tree when he dies. The subject matter of his work ranges from Avatars, bullet holes, and meth heads to The Iraq War, smiley faces, and Lindsay Lohan - but not necessarily in that order. Lowman has exhibited at venues the likes of the Museum of Modern Art, the New Museum, the Guggenheim, the Whitney Museum of American Art, Salon 94, Maccarone, Gavin Brown’s Enterprise (New York), and Palais de Tokyo (Paris). In 2013, Lowman co-founded Home Alone 2 Gallery with Leo Fitzpatrick. The artist currently lives and works in New York.
