About the Work
We are delighted to present a new edition, Untitled (Red Rectangle I), by the artist Robert Moreland. This edition offers a rare glimpse into a seldom-seen aspect of Moreland’s artistic practice – the creation of maquettes. Maquettes, small-scale models or preliminary sketches, are crucial in Moreland's process, allowing him to experiment and conceptualize before committing to full-scale works. During a visit to his studio, we were captivated by these intricate and essential models, finding inspiration in their role as the genesis of his larger creations. This edition is a tribute to this vital yet often overlooked element of his artistic process. Moreland's work, a blend of sculpture and painting, defies easy categorization. His multi-paneled, largely monochromatic creations, crafted from wood, paint, and canvas-like materials, emphasize the experiential aspect of art. They invite viewers to engage with the art instinctively, responding to its structural dynamics, bold colors, and the spatial interplay rather than through intellectual analysis. In his own words, Moreland describes his maquette practice: "I started making the maquettes in 2015 to explore new ideas swiftly and economically. It allowed me the freedom to experiment with different techniques in my search for a new way of creating/painting without being confined to a flat surface. This process led to one of the most significant creative boosts I've experienced." The edition at hand pays homage to these maquettes, highlighting Moreland's exploration of form, color, and structure. Each piece in this edition is a testament to his innovative approach and commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional painting and sculpture. Through this special edition, we aim to not only showcase Robert Moreland's unique artistic vision but also to provide an intimate look at the foundational stages of his creative process, offering collectors and enthusiasts a deeper connection to his work and artistic journey.
Artist Biography
Robert Moreland is a contemporary artist whose practice blurs the boundaries between painting and sculpture. Known for his multi-paneled, monochromatic works that challenge traditional notions of canvas art, Moreland creates pieces that emphasize spatial dynamics and engage viewers in a physical, instinctive experience. His works have been featured in prominent solo and group exhibitions, including those with The Hole in Los Angeles and in New York, Wilding Cran Gallery, Los Angeles, Harper’s Books in East Hampton, NY, and Library Street Collective as well as Louis Buhl in Detroit. Internationally, he has been showcased at G. Gallery in Seoul, South Korea , 1301SW in Melbourne, and Starkwhite in New Zealand. Moreland's works have also gained recognition in group exhibitions and art fairs globally, including NADA in Miami, The Armory Show in New York, and Sydney Contemporary in Australia. His artistic achievements are further solidified by acquisitions in esteemed collections such as the Adam Won Sculpture Park in South Korea and the Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation in Los Angeles.

Signed and numbered by the artist on front. This work is also accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed and numbered by Exhibition A.

Framing
Framed artwork is custom framed once it is ordered. Allow 3-5 weeks for framing and delivery.
FRAME
All of our frames are made from sustainably sourced engineered hardwood that is manufactured in the USA. Frames are available in Black or White Matte and Walnut.
MAT
Prints are hinged to a conservation quality, acid-free and lignin-free Cellulose matboard, using acid-free polyethylene cloth tape. Each mat’s surface paper is fade and bleed resistant and is attached to a conversation quality foam-core board. Some of our work (typically those pieces with a deckled edge) is floated on the matboard with spacers to separate the artwork from the glazing.
GLAZING
We use museum quality .060 mm plexiglass to frame your work. It blocks 82-85% of UV rays to prevent color fading from exposure to light, protecting your art for years to come.
DIMENSIONS
Our White and Black frames have a ⅞” wide flat face and are 15/16” deep. Mats are 1” wide for prints up to 8” x 10”. Mats are 2” wide for prints larger than 8” x 10”.
Our Natural and Walnut frames have a ¾” wide flat face and are 1 ⅛” deep. Mats are 1” wide for prints up to 8” x 10”. Mats are 2” wide for prints larger than 8” x 10”.
Any artwork that is floated will be placed in a frame that has a ⅝” wide flat face and is 1 5/16” deep. Work will be floated with a 1” border around it.
Shippings & Returns
Unframed work ships within 5 business days of your order. Framed artwork is custom framed once it is ordered. Please allow 2-4 weeks for framing and delivery. Need it faster? Expedited options may be available by emailing help@exhibitiona.com. All work ships from the US. International customers are responsible for any customs, duty, or VAT charges.
If you change your mind after placing your order, please email us at help@exhibitiona.com within 24 hours. We will not be able to accommodate cancellations for framed orders after that time period (as your frame will have been ordered and cut within that time period). We may not be able to accommodate your request to cancel your order for an unframed work after 24 hours if it has been packaged and processed by our fulfillment center.
We are unable to accept returns on custom framed artwork. Our general policy is that we do not accept returns. If your print arrives damaged or does not meet your expectations, you may be eligible for a replacement or return. Any issues must be reported within 5 business days of receipt by emailing help@exhibitiona.com.
