Shara Hughes
Our first collaboration with Shara Hughes was Split Ends (2016), followed by It's More Than a Guilty Pleasure (2017), for which we created fifteen custom frames that were hand-finished by the artist. The latter series was released at NADA Miami Beach 2017.
Shara Hughes (b. 1981, Atlanta, GA) has mounted solo museum exhibitions at the Yuz Museum (Shanghai), Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, Garden Museum (London), Aspen Museum of Art (Colorado), Le Consortium (Dijon), Kunstmuseum Luzern (Switzerland), and MOCA GA (Atlanta). Other solo exhibitions have been held at FLAG Art Foundation (New York), Galerie Eva Presenhuber (Zurich), Marlborough Chelsea (New York), American Contemporary (New York), Metroquandro (Rivoli), and Galerie Mikael Andersen (Copenhagen) among many others. Select group exhibitions include presentations at David Kordansky (Los Angeles), Dallas Museum of Art, Whitney Museum of American Art (New York), ICA Miami, Rachel Uffner Gallery (New York), The Drawing Center (New York) Jack Hanley Gallery (New York), Brand New Gallery (Milan), Salon 94 (New York), Coburn Projects (London), and Romer Young Gallery (San Francisco). Her work is in the permanent collections of institutions including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Denver Art Museum; High Museum of Art, Atlanta; and Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, D.C., among others. Hughes lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
