Uman
Our first collaboration with Uman was part of our Edition 02 of our Curator Series, where we released a series of original works on paper by the New York based artist, curated by Brad Phillips.
Uman (b. 1980, Somalia) has held solo exhibitions at Nicola Vassell (New York), Fierman (New York), Anne De Villepoix (Paris), and White Columns (New York), as well as a two-person exhibition alongside Gerasimos Floratos at Eleni Koroneou Gallery (Athens). Select group exhibitions include presentations at Venus Over Manhattan (New York), Rachel Uffner Gallery (New York), Karma (New York), 1_54 African Art Fair with Anne De Villepoix at Pioneer Works (Brooklyn), Institute of Contemporary Arts (London) and Ramiken Crucible (New York). She lives and works in upstate New York.
