Yung Jake

“Yung Jake was born on the Internet in 2011.” His music videos synthesize the qualities of hip-hop, technology, fine art, and social media worlds through a digital proficiency that exhibits our web-savvy culture and comments on an era of Internet virality and fame. Since earning his BFA from CalArts in 2012, Yung Jake has had several solo exhibitions at Steve Turner Contemporary (Los Angeles), where his work was also included in the group exhibition, “Space Program.” Additional group shows include those at Sundance Film Festival (Utah), Art Berlin Contemporary, and MAMA Gallery (Los Angeles), as well as live performances in Los Angeles at the Hammer Museum, REDCAT Theater, and MoCA.
