Karel Funk is currently the subject of a museum retrospective held at the Winnipeg Art Gallery on view through October 2016, as well as featured in the group show Coldest Winter Ever at Jessica Silverman Gallery South. Funk has mounted solo shows at 303 Gallery (New York) and Division Gallery (Montreal) among others. His work has been included in group shows at The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Musée International des Arts Modestes (Sete, France), Parrish Art Museum (Southhampton), and more. His work is held in numerous museum collections including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (New York), The Whitney Museum of American Art (New York), San Fransisco Museum of Modern Art, and the National Gallery of Canada, as well as many private collections. He received a BFA from the University of Manitoba in 1997 and an MFA from Columbia University in New York in 2003. Funk lives and works in Winnipeg, Canada.
