Taking the psychological aspect of space as a starting point, Crow transposes familiar architectural forms into the uncanny, the nostalgic, the melancholy, and the anxious. Through the use of artificial and anachronistic ornamentation, these superficial interiors confront the psychological unsteadiness of history. A Relic of Time is a depiction of disrupted domesticity, a voyeuristic view existing in disintegrating phantasmagoria. Corrosive colors and extreme vertical framing induces a sense of claustrophobia and vertigo. The carpet pattern becomes confetti littered on abandoned stairwell while streamers of spray paint disrupt the space - spectral remnants of an event just missed. The shadowy and fractured architecture seem to exist momentarily, as if only to vanish and fold into the next historical layer.
Framing options are black or white painted wood, 3/4" wide flat face and 1" deep, with UV acrylic glass.
