Guy Yanai abstracts mundane objects, landscapes, and architecture through decisive brush strokes applied in measured, horizontal stripes - the result: brightly colored compositions that remind us of Jonas Wood and David Hockney. In Boat With No Sailors, Yanai imposes geometric order on a familiar subject to create a succinct and pleasing representation of a sailboat gliding on water.
