About the Work
In a unique collaboration between the acclaimed artist Guy Richards Smit and Exhibition A, we're proud to unveil The Gag Cartoon Project. This endeavor delves into the dynamics of the art world, capturing its nuances and reflections through the medium of gag cartoons. Comprising four distinct editions, each limited to an edition size of five, these pieces are not only artworks; they're dialogue. Every print showcases a hand-painted caption by Guy, rendered on finely textured Hahnemuhle hemp paper. Inspired by Guy's long-standing passion for gag cartoons and their capacity to critique, this collaboration aims to release pieces that provoke thought while providing an authentic reflection on the art domain.
