Because he embraces traditional painting, Daniel Heidkamp could be considered somewhat of an outsider in today's contemporary art scene. Heidkamp paints in the open air, embracing the challenges of shifting light and the passage of time. Afterwards, the studies are brought back to his Sunset Park studio where they are continuously revisited in order to fully excavate the specific feelings of each original scene. His work falls on a continuum between Peter Doig, Dana Shutz, David Hockney, and Edward Hopper. This particular print is based on a painting of a home in South Florida where he had stayed with his wife and newborn.
Framing options are black or white painted wood, 3/4" wide flat face frame 1" deep, with UV acrylic glass.
