You're not looking at us, we're looking at you is the first unspoken utterance offered by the women in Monica Kim Garza's painted universes. Favoring authentic vivacity over conceptual certainty, the wisdom offered by her matriarchy multiplies until it is replete within the frame. There is an unabashed celebration of life to be had and it includes moving bodies, eating tropical fruits and fresh fish, bountiful sunlight, and not apologizing for your existence. With each expressive stroke, Garza electrifies the athletic solidity of her figures. Mah Gah Ree Tah 01-15 is a series of silkscreen prints that have been hand-finished by the artist with glitter, collaged paper, and acrylic.

Framed artwork is custom framed once it is ordered. Framed work will ship within 12 business days. Prints are hinged to a conservation quality, acid-free and lignin-free Cellulose matboard, using acid-free polyethylene cloth tape. Each mat’s surface paper is fade and bleed resistant and is attached to a conversation quality foam-core board. The mat will be 1.5" wide. We use museum quality .060 mm plexiglass to frame your work. It blocks 82-85% of UV rays to prevent color fading from exposure to light, protecting your art for years to come. Our White and Black frames have a ⅞” wide flat face and are 15/16” deep. Our Natural and Walnut frames have a ¾” wide flat face and are 1 ⅛” deep.
