One may recognize Mel Kadel's distinct style from the cover of Juxtapoz Magazine's February 2014 issue, which also featured the artist interviewed by Raymond Pettibon. Kadel's signature pen strokes and hand-mixed inks amalgamate into flowers, waves, and adventurous characters entangled in imbroglio or emerging from some other narrative. Kadel says, "if there's any success within my work, it's people having personal connections to it." Mass Distraction illustrates the mental tangle or knot of burden that we sometimes carry within ourselves - but also reminds us that, even if we're missing the forest for the trees, our feet are still planted firmly on the ground.
Print features a deckled edge. Framing option is black or white painted wood, 7/8" wide flat face and 7/8" deep, with UV acrylic glass and 1" float.
