Armed with a fervent appreciation and near-encyclopedic knowledge of art, artist Brad Phillips has been virtually curating a stream of consciousness style group show under the Instagram account @brad_phillips_group_show for years. The account has garnered an engaged following, in part, because Brad has no agenda other than sharing great art. In the second edition of our ongoing Curator Series, we approached Brad to bring his virtual group show to life through an online exhibition featuring series of works on paper by 9 artists who have recently caught his eye.
Emiliano Maggi (b. 1977; Rome, Italy) explores the constitution and disintegration of the self. The artist’s multi-faceted artistic approach expands the range of figurative representation, conjuring abstract regions beyond the realm of recognizability. Recent solo exhibitions have been held with Setareh X (Dusseldorf, Germany), Galeria Revolver (Buenos Aires), Operativa Arte (Rome), Building Gallery (Milan), among others. Select group exhibitions include Palazzo Abatellis (Palermo, Italy), Maxxi Museum (Rome), and Marco Museum (Rome).
