Pieter Schoolwerth is a painter, filmmaker, and musician who lives and works in New York. He has exhibited internationally with notable solo shows at Greene Naftali, Miguel Abreu, and Capitain Petzel. His work has been included in group exhibitions at several top institutions including The MoMa and The Whitney in New York and Centre Pompidou in Paris. 

NoRecord3_2019 revisits Schoolwerth’s Your Vacuum Sucks series from 2014- 2015. This series explores a situation in which a figure enters the vacuum of the painting, and is altered by their relationship with a utilitarian object. The paintings in this series combine photography, digital processing and printing, drawing, and oil painting to produce contemporary portraits that abstract and destabilize the human figure and its environment through these various technologies of the image.

Framing option is white or black painted wood, 7/8” wide flat face and 7/8” deep, with UV acrylic glass.
