Using the pomegranate as an homage to her home country of Georgia, Tamuna Sirbiladze (1971 - 2016) created oil stick drawings that oscillated between the figurative and the gestural. A skillful expression of Sirbiladze's "graphic panache" was showcased in her 2015 solo show at Half Gallery reviewed in The New York Times. Sirbiladze claimed color as the reason she became drawn to painting, which is evident in the vibrant language of color awareness that these works generate. Sirbiladze remarked, “searching for color and light is my main engagement.”
Framing option is black or white painted wood, 7/8" wide flat face and 7/8" deep, with UV acrylic glass.
