What Richard Prince did for re-photography, Jessica Craig-Martin continues to do for cropping: namely narrowing the viewer's focus and reconstituting narratives to go beyond surface reading. Craig-Martin’s photographs rarely allow for the identification of her subject’s faces, thus subverting the concept of society page party pictures, and instead points towards the baubles, plumage and telling details which offer commentary on society’s obsession with surface. Her work is in the holdings of The Whitney Museum, New York; The New Museum, New York; The Guggenheim Museum, New York as well as the Saatchi Collection, London.
Framing options are black or white painted wood, 3/4" wide flat face and 1" deep, with UV acrylic glass.
