About the Work

The Sin of Pride is our third porcelain-baked enamel on steel collaboration with Ryan McGinness. This work again takes the viewer into a surreal world of McGinness’ iconic drawings that depict a melting cloud, knotted snakes, a safety pin, peace doves fighting over an olive branch, a shit shoveler, and a ballerina, among numerous other symbols by the artist to decode. The scene is punctuated at the bottom with rainbow middle fingers. Often used in subways, porcelain baked enamel on steel is the most durable signage material in the world, making it ideal for any environment and weather condition. The work requires no framing, and hangs flush to the wall on a provided cleat.
