ABOUT THE WORK
"This is a drawing that can be read two ways, but either way, it is a piece about obsessive thoughts. The woman at the center could be having ruminating thoughts, fixating on painful memories of jealousy or envy about the couples in the clouds. Or, she could be fantasizing and lusting after one or both of the people in the clouds, and can't stop dreaming of them. Or, both can also be true. The drawing itself as well as the way I embellished the prints are very influenced by Henry Darger, whose work I've been inspired by since I was a teenager." - Heather Benjamin
