About the Work

We are proud to present Transpose Me by Mira Dancy, a hand-finished print series of 10 that debuted at NADA New York 2017, featuring imagery adapted from one of Dancy’s earlier paintings Blue Angel (2015). Working across a range of media, Dancy’s practice has been described by Artforum as existing with “lurid force and elegant autonomy." Whether painting, plexi or neon, her signature subject often centers on the female form splintered towards abstraction or atmosphere. Framed by the space between myth and popular culture, Dancy underscores the fluidity between accepted fictions and their construction in the everyday.
